The Shield of Kinnis
Long ago the kings of Kinergh possessed the shield of Kinnis, a powerful relic of the mighty hero who's defeat of the necromancer Ugar laid the foundation for the kingdom. Centuries ago the kingdom itself fell into chaos during the times of the fall of the CardolanEmpire. Since then Kinergh has rebuilt itself and prospered but without the shield no man can pass the test of Atur and claim the kingship. For 400 years the descendants of the royal house have ruled the Grand Duchy of Tisloch . Now as evil grows strong again the current Duke, Sharn Kellion II, urgently seeks for the lost shield which will allow him to claim the ancient throne and bring the rivalrous houses of Kinergh together again under one leadership.

Goals of The Shield of Kinnis

The shield communicates its feelings to its owner via empathy. When undead are present it will radiate a feeling of loathing and a desire to destroy them. Likewise if it senses an opportunity to advance its goals it will radiate a desire to do so. If it is displeased with its owner it will radiate a sense of displeasure, etc. The shield is fairly intelligent and can often determine if someone is helping or thwarting its goals, in which case it will make its likes or dislikes known to its owner.
