Then ... Osrik steps down near Dex to attack the skeleton with a reaping strike, leaving it bloodied, and marks it for good measure. Cinoi moves into the room, straining to see the spectre. He casts Eldritch Rain in the vicinity of the regular skeleton and the flaming skeleton, managing to miss the skeleton and hit the flamer. He retreats to the corner of the room for concealment.

Alecsa triggers a healing surge and then moves down to stand near Osrik, throwing a shuriken in front of her to ascertain if the spectre is still there. A sensation of cold throws her aim off, letting her know the spectre is close by. Gloriana's final attempt to turn undead fails, and the spectre appears and leaves itself visible. Chaedi casts Cloud of Daggers on flamer, but it misses. Flamer swings at Osrik and misses. The spectre tries to get Gloriana with an icy touch but fails to do so. Dex hits the skeleton standing in front of him, which then swings and hits him in return. Osrik performs a mighty cleaving action, hitting flamer. Cinoi curses the spectre, misses it with his Eldritch Blast, and moves to conceal himself again.

Alecsa moves up to the spectre and hits it with a torturous strike technique, then shifts away from it. From that hit, she can tell any non-magical weapon can't hurt it as much, but she did leave it bloodied. ...well, as bloodied as a spectre can manage... Gloriana is unsuccessful in hitting the spectre with an Avenging Flame attack and moves away from it. Chaedi tries to hit the spectre then teleports away from it, too. Flamer whacks Osrik hard and sets the dwarf on fire again! (Somewhere in here Dex died for a moment. Since the DM never says what happened, I'm guessing the Spectre wiped him out, but then he used his second wind to negate it. Or the DM made changes to the wrong token) Dex hits the skeleton, killing it. Osrik's attack misses flamer. Then, he uses a healing surge, puts out his fire, and marks flamer. Cinoi still cannot spot the spectre, so he moves to hit flamer with Eldritch Blast.

Alecsa moves to stand on the remains of the regular skeleton to attack flamer with a topple over exploit and knocks his flaming ass down! And he's as bloodied as a flaming undead thing that has no blood can be. Gloriana triggers a healing surge for Osrik, giving him a little boost. Looking for the spectre, Chaedi spots it behind her and casts Thunderwave on it, hitting it and pushing it back. Then, she moves away from it. Flamer attacks at, presumably his favorite target of Osrik, misses. The spectre shrieks, hitting Alecsa, Gloriana, Osrik, and Chaedi, knocking them all down. Apparently, Dex was hit, too, because he falls down dead. Osrik stands and hacks the flamer with at Reaping Strike technique. Cinoi pulls out his prized pact blade and misses flamer with an Eldritch blast, then moves to conceal himself in the confusion.

Alecsa stands and misses the spectre with a riposte strike. Gloriana's Blazing Beacon hits the spectre, and it fades away with a low moan. (She stood up, by the way.) Chaedi stands and casts Cloud of Daggers on flamer and kills it.

Gloriana checks on Dex, stabilizing him and healing him, and Osrik gives him a healing potion. However, he does refuse to take the Cure Light Wounds spell and "heroically" declares he'll use a crossbow for a while. The party rests for a few minutes and heals up as needed.

The party searches the room and finds a hidden panel in the wall behind the smoldering remains of flamer. Determining the panel is not trapped and has no lock, Alecsa pries off the panel, which reveals a small case. Making sure it's safe, she opens it to find a chain with a pendant that looks suspiciously like the sun symbol of Lir. Alecsa heaves a disappointed sigh and asks Gloriana to confirm that suspicion. Gloriana says it is a Symbol of Life, a magic holy symbol that will boost her powers of healing once a day. (Smarty pants Cinoi has to add his two cp worth of knowledge on the item, as well.) Osrik goes into a wanting-to-bash-things tizzy, suffering from bash withdrawal. +he was just teasing Alecsa+ Alecsa is of a mind that every other bit of loot they find will likely be something of Lir's, meaning there will be more disappointing "treasure."

The party turns to the double doors in the north wall. Once Alecsa pronounces it safe, Osrik pulls them open and leads the party through the doors, down a 30' hall and into a big room with another hall leading off from the east wall. Oh, and there's a ghoul waiting to attack them. (He's all gray and slavering, according to the DM.)

Alecsa misses making it topple over because it's so freaking hard to hit! Gloriana is also unable to turn it. Cinoi curses it and attacks it with Dread Star, hitting it and immobilizing it momentarily. Chaedi casts Icy Ray on the ghoul and immobilizes it. Dex actually hits it with a crossbow bolt! The ghoul claws Gloriana and leaves her immobilized. Osrik slices it with a reaping strike. Suddenly, another ghoul comes up from the eastern hallway behind Dex and whacks him. He's lucky to still be standing, since he had refused the Cure Light earlier.

Alecsa moves to the opposite side of the first ghoul to flank him and hits him with a torturous strike sneak attack and kills the blasted thing! Rooted to the spot, Gloriana turns around and heals Dex a bit, and is finally able to break out of her immobilized state. Cinoi curses the second ghoul and then hits it with Dreadful Word. Then, he moves for concealment, and the ghoul hits him as he moves past it. (Gasp! Cinoi's first battle wound!!) Cinoi is left immobilized. Chaedi misses with her Cloud of Daggers then moves. Dex actually hits the thing with his sword. Osrik misses with his crushing blow.

Alecsa moves to stand beside the immobilized warlock and attacks the ghoul but misses. Gloriana moves closer to the ghoul to stand beside the immobilized Dex and flanking the undead thing, but her Lir's Radiance fails to do anything to it. Cinoi uses Commander's Strike to impel Osrik to attack the ghoul. Osrik hacks into the ghoul. Chaedi's Cloud of Daggers misses, but the previous cloud nicks it. Dex's attack misses, and in return, the ghoul bites him! Then, the ghoul shifts away.

Alecsa hits the ghoul with a piercing strike and kills the damned thing! A search of the room yields nothing.

The party retreats to the cross-altar room to rest, spiking doors and setting alert traps in any place an enemy might cross. They are able to rest without incident and heal up. Then, they return to the ghoul room without encountering any other problems.

(I would like to point out that this is Cinoi's first injury that didn't involve a bedroom.)
